Hedera Pastukhov or ivy Pastukhov is the only species of this plant that is listed in the Red Book of Russia. On the territory of the country grows only in Dagestan. It is found in Azerbaijan, Georgia and in the north of Iran.
The species is characterized by whole heart-shaped leaves up to 10 cm in length. There are shoots with ovoid and wide ovoid forms.
A feature of the species is the inability to grow on rocks. His lashes are located only on trees. When decorating the premises, they need supports and additional fastening.
Pastukhov ivy is widely used for vertical gardening.
It is widely used for vertical gardening, phyto-decoration of trading floors. Suitable in office premises. Leaving takes a minimum of time, the bush looks neat all year round, does not give litter.
The plasticity of the shoots allows you to form any shapes out of them, as the designer’s imagination tells you. The head is very convenient in mobile gardening - thanks to the same flexibility of the branches, which can be stacked compactly during transportation and then straightened without damaging them.
Interesting leaves. Thin-skinned, with a dim gloss, they are polymorphic: the higher the shoots climb, the narrower the leaf blade becomes. On one plant you can find leaves are round, angular, oval, lanceolate. It seems that several different vines grow together.
In Europe, it became possible to buy seedlings of ivy Pastukhov, or “Russian” (Russian ivy) since 1972. His very first cultivar, Ann Ala, is on sale today. The corners of the house or garden, twined by him, are cozy and attractive, without the gloomy severity characteristic of ordinary ivy.
In a conservatory or conservatory, Hedera pastuchowii can bloom. Umbrellas made of spherical berries - the original decoration, albeit completely inedible - are sung for a whole year until they become black and gray.
To make the pattern on the leaves appear more contrast, choose a place with bright diffused lighting. The enrichment of the soil with calcium also contributes to this.
From September to the end of February, the plant is at rest. It is permissible to order planting material in winter or autumn. He will start to grow in March. Container seedlings will be no problem in indoor conditions. Planted in soil at stable plus temperatures.
In the future, your vine is easy to propagate vegetatively - ivy cuttings root almost completely, especially if you help them by using stimulants.
The soil is kept moist. It responds well to sprinkling. Old, lost foliage shoots are best trimmed - soon they will be replaced by new ones. Container maintenance requires regular top dressing with complexes for decorative deciduous.
During the dormant period, they do not water the home vine, only periodically spray it. Pastukhov’s ivy does not suffer from pests.
